"YOU PEOPLE"

Got my OWN mic, stage, key, seat & door!

I stand on the shoulders of my ancestors.

I stand for the army behind me.

I stand for the future ahead of me.

I stand in solidarity with these mothers who are finally getting to embody their power.

Allow me to start with the words of the late Coretta Scott King aka Retta!

“I must remind you that starving a child is violence. Neglecting school children is violence. Punishing a mother and her family is violence. Discrimination against a working man is violence. Ghetto housing is violence. Ignoring medical need is violence. Contempt for poverty is violence.”

They say learning loss, I ask how and where?

The world has learned what we inner city dwellers have ALWAYS known since the boat or pre 1619.

Wielders in CONgress will our mental, emotional, financial, psychological, educational or social issues and benign neglect allow them to perpetuate it.

Wielders in CONgress need our muscles, minds, and bodies to produce great profit and that alone is because of our will.

As a newly widower, it was the intentional, willful, legislative and known negligence of the schools that thrust us educators into the classrooms without a well thought out plan or including us in assuring the safety of all stake holders within the building in the boardrooms and around the discussion and decision making tables.

We are not only educators but we are also men and women professionals who also have loved ones with preexisting conditions or who are terminally ill that we care for, love and need.

With covid numbers yet high, why push us educators and students to go back in person?

With covid numbers yet high, why aren’t those with legislated preexisting conditions health not a top priority?

With covid numbers yet high, why must those who have lost loved ones go on as business as usual?

We parents must take the lead on what is best for our children because clearly those in “executive” positions don’t or won’t.

Brother Biden, Arthur Culver, JB Pritkler as well as U.S. Department of Education Secretary Cardona; O we see who is yet being neglected, rejected, disrespected and unprotected for sure.

This is your opportunity to prove that CRT and BLM is not what the media paints and do right by us and our children or we can pull them out.

Good Book No More……

America is banning books to protect impressionable children.

America is banning books because of its explicit language.

America is banning books because of foul language.

America is banning books for its sexual content.

America is banning books to “supposedly” preserve the innocence of children who have access to anything and everything nonstop.

America is banning every book except the most vile, evil, immoral, dehumanizing, malicious, divisive, erroneous, vicious and terrorizing book ever written; THE GOOD BOOK or THE BIBLE.

I read that banning books is because of VIOLENCE. I read that children should not be introduced or read about VIOLENCE.

Allow me to job your memory when the word VIOLENCE is concerned.

THE BIBLE WHEN IT COMES TO BLACK FOLKS IS NOTHING BUT VIOLENT, MALICIOUS, VICIOUS, DIVISIVE, RACIST, OPPRESSIVE AND INHUMANE.

“I must remind you that starving a child is violence. Neglecting school children is violence. Punishing a mother and her family is violence. Discrimination against a working man is violence. Ghetto housing is violence. Ignoring medical need is violence. Contempt for poverty is violence.” Coretta Scott King

So we should no longer get to pick and choose who is LEGISLATED malpractice, inhumanity, immorality, maltreatment of which is all LEGISLATED and LEGAL VIOLENT ACTS and THE BIBLE is used to justify it all.

Did I read That Right?

Read an article that said COVID is testing the MENTAL TOUGHNESS of our educators.

I was taken aback but not really, at the rate the are leaving the classrooms, profession and our children speaks to just how weak, insincere, inept, incompetent and ineffective WHITE teachers really are and were.

They were never in education because they cared, America created a class that they could hurt, harm, fail, criminalize and terrorize our children and it was known, allowed, willed and legislated to do thusly.

I wished the author was bold enough and was more INTENTIONAL AND SPECIFIC and said WHITE TEACHERS.

BLACK teachers are TOUGH MINDED and SKINNED because we are BLACK IN AMERICA working in a profession that was NEVER created for us to do so.

BLACK teachers are TOUGH MINDED and SKINNED because before the PANDEMIC, we always had nothing, outdated or extremely little to work with that was legislated no matter how many times we petitioned the board of education, state board of education or department ofeducation in Washington DC.

BLACK TEACHERS mastered LOW and NO,  DISEEGARD AND FISEESPECT, EXCLUSION AND REJECTION because we are patents doing the same thing in America.

Pre Pandemic, BLACK TEACHER in the inner cities throught america zipcodes, cultivate, manifest, become magicians, come early, stay late, tutor, pay for students graduations and proms so they could HAVE DIGNITY as their educational journey culminated and do it with great pride.

Pre Pandemic teachers in our inner cities who are literally LEGISLATED the short end of EVERY EDUCATIONAL stick tackle the homelessness, hopelessness, difficult parents, MIA homes, and hunger because THEY GET THAT IT MUST BE A RELATIONSHIP AND IN THIS RELATIONSHIP TRUST MUST BE UNDERSTOOD AND OUR BLACK TEACHERS GET IT.

So yeah, they have ALWAYS been a #ClassAct.

#PreCovid

America has shown BLACK AMERICANS just how they feel about our children in these schools.

America has shown BLACK PARENTS just how education is antiquated.

America has shown BLACK PEOPLE just how they value your dedication in upholding their bottom lines.

America has shown BLACK AMERICANS just how valuable we are and are needed and ALWAYS have been.

We should NOT GO BACK TO PRE PANDEMIC, NOTHING.

Dear America,

Pandemically teaching, Marva Collins Legacy…….

Black teachers dilemma have been magnified because now the world can sees know, understand and have one of two options: HONESTLY CONFRONT or SORROWFULLY OVERLOOK what we have been crying out for the past 400 plus years when it comes to educating our inner city brilliant children.

This legislated education malpractice and curriculum discrimination must end.

You need, depend upon, expect and flourish because of your Black teachers, period. We are successful at educating our inner city children who are seen as, known as and believed to be wired differently, unable to learn and have a learning disability all because of poverty.

We know what is within them because of poverty, we instill what is within them because we birth them, we pour greatness into them and we extract the greatness from within.

We are the ones who understand that when it comes to Black children
We can get them to speak their truth
We can get them to trust
We believe in them
We can speak their language
We can read their nonverbal and verbal communication
We envision greatness for them
We make no excuses for their livelihoods, living conditions and situations that they are legislated
We are well aware of what is inside of Black children
We can understand the verbal and nonverbal communication of Black children.

Black teachers get ripe results from Black students.
Black teachers build sincere relationships with all stake holders surrounding Black students.
Black teachers understand the community.
Black teachers can do more with less because we are used to it. Black teachers can make greatness even in the midst of being defunded, having less and no resources allocated to them.
Black teaches are successful at creating magic.
Black teachers are superior.
Black teachers are always equipping their students to be ready leaders of tomorrow and contributing citizens and in full understanding of their civic responsibility.

Our inner city children are in these prison preps called schools fighting battles they aren’t even aware are battles and the Black educators are here to save them, heal them, hold them, show them they are not inferior, less than or incapable of doing, learning and reaching anything and lastly we provide a safe space of refuge from our colleague who don’t “get” them as we do double duty.

Black teachers have the children on their assigned rosters and the children pushed into their classes because they can “handle” them and the students feel a sense of safety and peace in their rooms, so

Black teachers have that open door policy as she instructs.
With the paradigm shift of educators within our inner city schools, we see our Black children nightly on the news being criminals, malicious and just unrecognizable to us as a culture.

With the paradigm shift of educators within our inner city schools, our children have lost their love of learning, thinking, being inquisitive and being scholarly is not seen as attainable.

I daily see educators paid to teach down, not show up and demean the students of which is seemingly the American way.

As a former educator who had her license revoked, federal refunds confiscated and wages garnished, I am somehow supposed to not teach our children the truth?

I am supposed to look at Black brilliant children in the midst of a deadly pandemic and high racial tension and treat them like they have no voice or feelings about what is going on.

Teaching in the midst of a pandemic as a devoted Substitute……

Yes we show up, we give our all, we face down a deadly virus and somehow our schools are being staffed with teachers as well as substitutes.

Yet, we substitute teachers are treated like we are not stake holders in the education attainment of our children of color in in our inner cities. The inner city has always been impoverished and financially challenged.

The expectations, the standards, the vision, the goals and the intentionality of our Black teachers should not only be acknowledged but applauded and compensated as thusly.

The world saw during COVID19, (SCHOOL CLOSURES AND REOPENINGS, TEACHERS QUITTING IN THE MIDDLE OF A LESSON, PARENTS INACTIVE, PARENTS UNABLE TO BE REACHED) exactly what our inner city students and educators have been dealing with pre-pandemic and our Black teachers did and still do extraordinary things with them, for them and on behalf of them.

We are expected to overlook their reality, teach as though their poverty isn’t an urgent issue, the crisis they faced during the midnight hour should not be addressed, emergency shift in family structure isn’t allowed to be processed and steps taken prior to moving in and abrupt life changes where others can’t have to even have compassion, empathy or care about them and their reality.

As an educator, I have learned a plethora of things that work and are proven but when it comes executing these wonderful pedagogies, philosophies and curriculums within our inner cities, they are all null and void of which is cool.

LET OUR BLACK TEACHERS TEACH OUR BLACK FUTURE.

It is immoral, illegal, unjust and just down right unconscionable of what our inner city Black children are legislated, served and up against to seemingly fight this racist battle alone.

How do we sit back and watch an entire college scandal, insurrection and then place these ever so ridiculous demands upon our inner city children who show up for us, work hard for us and in the face of legislated poverty, oppression, lack and they STILL believe?

These students deserve more, are more and should be elevated higher along with their stake holders, black minds, black lives and black intellectual properties.

This pandemic is exactly the level of pandemonium inside of our classrooms. People make executive decisions that has neither taught in a school system for years nor care to produce scholastically inclined children that will outshine and outperform their children who would be their competition.

This pandemic magnified the consistent inconsistencies we Black educators get along with our children and are expected to deal with it, face it, agree with it and make greatness out of it and it is all asinine.

This pandemic is proof of what is put on the plate of Black educators where they are attempting to reach out to families, assure children the dignity they have by making sure they have what they need to learn, show up and be their best selves.

We substitutes are working like we are full- time teachers, we show up like we are full-time teachers, we attend professional development like we are full-time teachers but when it comes to perks, compensation and bonuses; now we are NOT full-time teachers?

Something must change in America’s educational system and fast and it appears PARENTS ARE WITHDRAWING THEIR CHILDREN AND QUICKLY.

CENSORSHIP!

SCHOOL BOARDS ARE BANNING BOOKS FEATURING ANYTHING ABOUT AFRICAN AMERICAN HISTORY ESPECIALLY THE BOOK, “BLUEST EYES.”

SCHOOL BOARDS ARE BANNING BOOKS FEATURING ANYTHING ABOUT THE HOLOCAUST ESPECIALLY THE BOOK, “MAUS.”

SCHOOL BOARDS ARE SHOWING US ALL JUST WHO THEY ARE AND ALWAYS HAVE BEEN AS FAR AS WE INNER CITY DWELLERS ARE CONCERNED.

EDUCATION MALPRACTICE AND CURRICULUM DISCRIMINATION IS INTENTIONAL, WILLFUL, KNOWN, UNDERSTOOD AND LEGISLATED:

REGRESSION

IGNORANCE

LOSS

DENIAL

REJECTION

Miscarriage of Justice?

There is no such a thing.

There is no such a phrase.

There is no such an act.

There is NO miscarriage of justice in America.

Let’s look at the word, MISCARRIAGE. A miscarriage is said to be spontaneous loss of a child. What does the word spontaneous mean? Sudden impulse, impromptu, second nature, automatic, without planning or thought.

So if THAT is the case, America have LEGALIZED and ALWAYS ALLOWED WHITES to get off, be innocent and not worthy of jail time.

IT IS NO UR DNA but yet they ALWAYS ALLOWED and have LEGALIZED BLACK MEN, WOMEN, AND CHILDREN to be GUILTY and we hardly ever get the until proven innocence because they need our brilliance, resilience, faith, minds, muscles, compliance, belief and work ethics to build what they need, want, covet, expect and demand.

Justice of WHITES are never miscarried, it is CARRIED fully the way they wanted, liked, and expected.

America knows of no justice

America has no truth

America knows of no values

America knows of no principles

America knows of no good character

America knows of no dignity

America knows of no fairness

America knows of no lawfulness

America knows of no ethics

America knows of no equality

America knows of no equity

White people HAVE ALWAYS HAD THE RIGHT to be wrong

White people HAVE ALWAYS HAD THE RIGHT to do wrong

White people HAVE ALWAYS HAD THE RIGHT to lie

White people HAVE ALWAYS HAD THE RIGHT to deny elevation

White people HAVE ALWAYS HAD THE RIGHT to oppress

White people HAVE ALWAYS HAD THE RIGHT to terrorize

White people HAVE ALWAYS HAD THE RIGHT to not be effective

White people HAVE ALWAYS HAD THE RIGHT to perform malpractice

White people HAVE ALWAYS HAD THE RIGHT to execute maltreatment

White people HAVE ALWAYS HAD THE RIGHT to emotionally scar generations of Brown and Black children in education

White people HAVE ALWAYS HAD THE RIGHT to hold positions that they are unqualified, ineffective and incapable of carrying out where our children of color are concerned

White people HAVE ALWAYS HAD THE RIGHT to defy laws, rules, codes and mandates

White people HAVE ALWAYS HAD THE RIGHT to hold others deeply accountable for the SAME LAWS, CODES, RULES AND MANDATES THEY AREN’T

White people HAVE ALWAYS HAD THE  RIGHT to feel entitled to come into our inner city areas, make decent salaries without producing a damn thing

White people HAVE ALWAYS HAD THE RIGHT to raise children who are verbally abusive and violent and their moms are fearful so they feel entitled to antagonize, dehumanize, hurt and harm our children of color who are now doing it to their elders and this has NEVER been our culture

White people HAVE ALWAYS HAD THE RIGHT to be unjust

White people HAVE ALWAYS HAD THE RIGHT to criminalize the very poverty America legislates

White people HAVE ALWAYS HAD THE RIGHT to graduate our babies not proficient in subject matter

White people HAVE ALWAYS HAD THE RIGHT to be under contract but due to the overwhelming state of poverty, homelessness, ptsd, low resources in the schools they can miss how ever many days AND STILL GET PAID and we substitutes NEVER FAILED THEM

White people HAVE ALWAYS HAD THE RIGHT to not have certifications, licenses or other crap they DEMAND of us but can start

White people HAVE ALWAYS HAD THE RIGHT to withhold life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness

White people HAVE ALWAYS HAD THE RIGHT to create loopholes and then say we poor aren’t trying hard enough or don’t want something bad enough

White people HAVE ALWAYS HAD THE RIGHT to hide behind policies, laws, rules, cides and mandates to maintain white privilege

White people once had these RIGHTS but once WE THE PEOPLE began rising up and demanding JUSTICE, their RIGHTS started diminishing, eroding, fading and stopping and we started coming to the table for NOT ONLY discussions BUT ALSO decision making.

So as we can see, WHITES have never been held accountability for immoral, unjust, illegal, dehumanizing, vicious and malicious acts because they HAVE ALWAYS AHD THE RIGHTS to perform them.

CDC NET

The CDC, this is an acronym; even the most ignorant of us is familiar with it today.

Never heard of it or knew of it but it has been around all of our lives but we know of it today because of this vicious and deadly virus and pandemic that we are living.

The CDC,  it always been around, it has come up with discombobulated directions, misconstrued findings, unfounded data and the like but yet they are a reputable organization of which is silent, missing and because of benign neglect allow our inner cities throughout america to be what it be and do what it do……

The CDC, here reflecting on Net, I just chuckled because I thought about CDC. In reflecting on CDC, it isn'[t what you know of CDC. I am began thinking about the CHURCH I grew up in, New Bethel Missionary Baptist under the leadership of the late Rev. Lawrence Shipp, Sr. and Rev. Fred Harris, Sr.

Net, she was extremely active in the church along with my Keedy Weedy and Sand. so were they. Although she was older she was yet youthful.

CDC. Church was the spiritual restaurant.

We were able to get a buffet style; we were at liberty to pick and choose what we needed to carry us through the week.

Growing up in church, children were kids and kids migrated to children and children learned from children.

It was the 3 amigos and their dad, the Reverend Keith McCaskill who was amazing, gifted and talented. Life happens, we grow up, grow apart and choose a different path for us without many explanations.

We see our children and parents through different eyes and life happens and it was in the church, from the church and about the church that formed us and now today, we are ending in the church, the great unifier.

When we wed, we web. Marriage affords us to branch out and connect, interconnect and grow and foster new relationships, friendships, habits and values.

Marriage, extends us, exposes us, stretches us, includes us, excludes us, heightens us, lowers us,  humbles us, and empowers us.

When I think of marriage, it is the multiple people that’s associated and attached to the 1 person who is now attached and connected to us and that is community.

When I think of community, I think of Net who did all of those things by marrying Keith McCaskill, Sr. Attached to him came: expansion, exclusion, heighten, exposure, inclusion and many other things that also interconnected and connected us to gather here today.

There is no way McCaskill and Department of Motor Vehicle is not synonymous.

Yes, we are talking about Net but the larger picture of who I am and the role Net played in my life and CDC.

She played various ways she impacted me and invested in me.

I stand to thank her for connecting, webbing, assuring, interconnecting, reconnecting and bringing us all together because of Anette Brown, McCaskill Jones all those names encompasses the woman we are bidding farewell today.

Department of Motor Vehicle was a place where the community gathered to assure us that we were legal when we drove. When we drive, we must have our licenses, certifications and titles and registrations current. We had to make sure when we are halted, terrorized, and stopped we are legal. Just as Net did; in order to get to heaven we need to make sure we are legal, right, just and current.

Momma Shirley, the lady and the legend takes us where we needed to be; she took us where we needed to go to get legal at the Department of Motor Vehicle.

COMMUNITY, I end with this. The Brown family were all older than I. But, it is something about children. Keedy Weedy, Sand and PeeWee interconnected the Brown household, Hoover household, Ross household and Caradine household and we were COMMUNITY.

Hunger In Higher Education

Food insecurity on campus is real.

We have one goal in mind while residing in our inner cities and that is to reach for the American Dream and elevate our families out of these immoral, unjust, illegal and dehumanizing legislative conditions.

This situation is what we are literally legislated.

I recall my time at EIU and dealing with hunger.

I left my community to make sure I would not be a statistic, Fit the stereotypical single, poor, black girl image with a baby. I hooked him up, we got into a U-haul And we went up 54.

When you come from the inner city, food insecurity doesn’t look like what people call it.

You are used to missing meals, missing “matches” or just not having enough to eat.

I didn’t have that issue but once I left and went off to college, not knowing a lot about financial management frfr I faced hunger a lot.

Realizing that the financial assistance office was the place with the money, I got extra money A LOT AT EVERY LEVEL to just purchase food.

Too embarrassed to get SNAP. Why? Ignorance.

Frederick Douglass spoke on how the slave masters weaponized food as a form of control.

Colleges are well aware that we can’t call home and get the needed financial means for a lot and food is indeed a major issue.

Hunger in America is by design, legislated, intentional, willful, zoned and known.

There is no shortage, it is greed, inconsideration, immorality and dehumanization but never shortage.

This is what Dr. King meant when he said, “Injustice Anywhere Is A Threat To Justice Everywhere.”

This is what Nelson Mandela meant when he said, “Overcoming poverty is not a gesture of charity. It is an act of justice. It is the protection of a fundamental human right, the right to dignity and a decent life.”

This is what Upton Sinclair meant when he said “It is difficult to get a man to understand something when his salary depends upon his not understanding it.”

Yet, those who are coined nonessential workers were said to mooch off the government

Yet, those who are coined nonessential workers were said to be lazy

Yet, those who are coined nonessential workers were framed as uneducated

Yet……..

Now we see how the gummit have always used, abused and misused inner city dwellers and controlled the erroneous narratives

What we are witnessing is control of those who are desperately afraid of losing their power that they have stolen over the past 400 years

WE HAVE ALWAYS BOUNCED UPWARDS AND FORWARD STILL, EVEN WHEN THEY LEGISLATED WAYS FOR US NOT TO DO SO.

BLUEST EYES Banned from AP?

Lean in Wentzville, MO school district, I see you all have issue with the book titled, “The Bluest Eyes” by the late SCHOLAR DR. TONI MORRISON. (Put some respect on her name).

Last I checked, when we said AP students they were SELFIE DRIVEN before it became a cool phrase or a thing.

They are able, intellectually driven, motivated, self starters, willing to take on challenges, can take print and dissect it intellectually, study in great depth, breadth and complexity (UNTIL YOU PARENTS STEP UP) highly qualified, able, dedicated, build a strong collegiate foundation, knows the importance of a strong study habit, committed, responsible, understand the importance of connecting with other motivating WHITE RICH students, boost their self confidence, aptitude and esteem, receive intellectual stimulation and challenges, multitaskers, able to prioritize and make deadlines, responsible, prepared, skip introductory courses, complete tasks, organized, proficient in the written word and in reading, distinguished learners, critical thinkers ya know YO KIND.

Your school has a total of 25 AP courses. I call it Curriculum Discrimination. Your children aren’t brilliant, bright and/or over achievers they are LEGISLATED access, opportunities and resources unlike our inner city schools.

When I see the communities with the BLUEST EYES school district’s clubs and activities pages; CLEARLY america is allowed to deny us access, opportunities and resources while I knowing this as a parent, I am unable to sue because of an infringement on my children’s First Amendment Constitutional right.

O yeah, I know that in 64 Senate voted and a 337-77 House vote, Congress passed the Equal Access Act stating: “It shall be unlawful for any public secondary school which receives Federal financial assistance and which has a limited open forum, to deny equal access or a fair opportunity to, or discriminate against, any students who wish to conduct a meeting within that limited open forum on the basis of the religious, political, philosophical, or other content of the speech at such meeting.”

Before I get to the banning of the scholarly work of Dr. Toni Morrison because as you all framed it, it has “strong” language and you coin it as “controversial.”

Nothing is controversial, it is intentionally, willfully, legislatively, zoned and purposefully legislated.

Nothing is controversial, what is done today in 2022 was done back in the 1600’s, it is just renamed, reimagined, redone, revisited, reworded, remobilized, revised, reform, recommended, reviewed, reconstructed, remade, revamped, retweaked.

Nothing is controversial, you STILL reap off of the backs, necks, shoulders, blood, sweat, tears, work ethics and even death of BLACK BODIES. It takes one one swipe of a pen to END ALL OF THIS AND WE ALL KNOW THIS.

In 2022, we must STILL look this way, talk this way, achieve this, achieve that, accomplish this, accomplish that, act this way and prepare our children for a world that do not see them, hear them, believe them, accept them, appreciate them, understanding them or honor them but yet NEED THEM, COVET THEM, EXPECT THEM, PROFIT FROM THEM.

In 2022, we must STILL move into areas where THE BLUEST EYES reside for a progressive education and also opportunities and access for a better tomorrow occurs because you de-legislate and defunded it from us inner city dwellers. You see, you all know better than ANYONE that it’s not nor has it ever been about our ability but AVIALABILITY, access, opportunities, privilege’s and america managed to disguise it and justify the reason we are perpetually and generationally missing, omitted and excluded but we ALL KNOW that it is etched into policies, laws, rules, codes, mandates and legislation.

In 2022, we must STILL travel far for supposedly greater, safer and better.

In 2022, we must STILL pay astronomical prices for activities, clubs, hobbies, etc. that comes natural to us and ours and I call it a way to replace those WHITES ONLY signs.

I ask, clearly you have NEVER read the “good book” you love to conveniently quote, hold up use as roadmaps or reasons of virtues, values, principle and character.

YOU LOVE TO USE THE BIBLE to make points when it speaking on diversity, inclusion, community, unity and anything ANTI ANYONE OTHER THAN WHITE.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

Here reflecting on 44 and 45, the latter one they say brought out the ignorant americans but as one in these inner city parts, understood they have always been seen, heard and understood. He did nothing but was audible, willful and intentional while all others legislated the very same thing in silence but the roots were the same.

Our laws, rules, codes, mandates and policies has seemingly always appealed to these people because they benefitted, profited and gained greatness while being the most dumbest and intellectually incompetent, inept and fragile non ideologues, just look at the outcomes of our children today. 83% of our teachers are White and come from areas such as this where they have always had access, resources and opportunities, along with hand picked, grandfathered in and money said that they can do and be what they will. Yet, it is only until we who are intellectually robust step in and change the trajectory toward equality, justice, humanity, character, morality and love for all…

If you don’t believe me, revisit those voting exit polls.

As I watched the news this morning, there is no need for this post really because you are a microcosm of america.

You ignorant ones always influence, lead, and think you dictate until we finally unify and snatch the ways we go.

You BLUE EYED people can even send your children into our inner cities to hurt, harm, kill and rob them of their brilliance, love of learning, intellect, will and goals; I see it daily.
