WHEN REFLECTING ON THE WORD PURPOSE, THESE ARE THE WORDS INSIDE OF PURPOSE AND I NEED YOU TO UNDERSTAND THIS BLACK WOMAN, OWN IT BLACK WOMAN, EMBODY IT BLACK WOMAN, BELIEVE IT BLACK WOMAN AND PROFIT OFF IT ALL BLACK WOMAN.
THIS IS IN OUR DNA AND WHO WE ARE. WE ARE AND ALWAYS HAVE BEEN A PURPOSE DRIVEN WOMEN.
SO– NO MATTER YOUR JOURNEY TO RIGHT NOW, IT WAS ESSENTIAL TO BE IN THE PRESENT FOR US ALL TO ENJOY, LEARN, EMULATE AND UNDERSTAND.
POSE– A PICTURE IS WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS I AM TOLD, TO SEE US STAND AS THE WOMEN WE HAVE EVOLVED INTO IN SPITE OF ALL OF THE HUMILIATION, HURT, HARM, DANGER, MALTREATMENT AND MALPRACTICE WE HAVE ENDURED, WE HAVE A PLETHORA OF WORDS, LANGUAGES, INTERPRETATIONS AND MEANINGS AND THEY ALL SAY STRENGTH, TENACITY AND STRONG WILL, BRILLIANCE, INTELLECT, INVESTMENTS AND POWER.
POUR– THIS IS ALL WE HAVE DONE AROUDN THE WORLD AND THAT IS WALKING VESSELS DISPENSING GENUINE LOVE, HOPE, GOODWILL, FAITH AND BELIEF BECAUSE WE KNOW ALL TOO WELL WHAT IT WAS LIKE TO BE WITHOUT, WE BLACK WOMEN HAVE ALWAYS REPLENISHED EVERYONE BUT US, THIS IS OUR MOMENT.
OUR– WE RAN FFROM THIS BECAUSE THE BIBLE INSTRUCTS TO “BOAST NOT” “BE MEEK” ALLOW OTHERS TO GET THE SHINE AS THE BENEFITTED, PROFITTED, AND GAINED MUCH WEALTH AND HEALTH OFF OF WHAT CAME NATURAL FROM US. WE RAN FROM THIS BUT TO SEE US EMBRACE, VALUE, ACKNOWLEDGE, OWN WHAT IS WITHIN US AND APPRECIATE IT, VALUE IT AND PROTECT IT BECAUSE THIS IS OUR GOD GIVEN GIFT AND PURPOSE.
PURSE– THIS IS BOUGHT EMPTY BUT PEOPLE CHOOSE WHAT THE PUT IN AND BRING OUT. WE BLACK WOMEN ARE WALKING VALUABLE PURSES WITH MIGHTINESS WITHIN AND SPRINKLE IT OVER HUMANITY, THIS IS OUR MOMENT TO SHINE AND ENJOY NOT ONLY THE FRUIT OF OUR LABOR BUT GET BACK WHAT WE HAVE LOST AND THAT IS THAT ELIZABETH AND MARY GENUINE BOND.
ROSE– THE RESURRECTION OF THE BEAUTIFUL FLOWER I SEE AMONG US IS TO BE DESIRED. WE ARE STANDING TALL, TAKING OVER CONVERSATIONS IN PRIVATE SUITES, COMMANDING ATMOSPHERS TO SHIFT, BEING SEEN AND HEARD, SPEAKING UNAFRAD AND INTENTIONAL AND IT IS THE SUPPOR OF OTHER ROSES FOR ME.
SORE– THIS IS THE PROOF THAT WE FEEL, HURT, AND WAS HARMED BUT EVEN IN OUR BEING WOUNDED OR BEEN NEGATIVELY AFFECTED WITH INFECTIONS CAUSED BY LIFE WE ARE STILL SURVIVING.
ROPE– THIS IS WHAT WE BLACK WOMEN HAVE ALWAYS GIVEN THOSE OUT IN THE DEEP WATERS, IN THE FIRE AND IN THE CAVE WHILE BEING LYNCHED BUT WE ARE CHOOSING TO LASSO TODAY AND REEL US ALL BACK TO CLARITY, WISDOM, SAFETY AND SECURITY.
US– THIS IS FOR OUR GROWTH, CLARITY, UNDERSTANDING AND EMBRACE US AUTHENTICALLY. TO SEE US SIFT PEOPLE, WEED PEOPLE OUT AND ALLOW PEOPLE SPACE TO ASSIST US IS WHAT OUR ANCESTORS WANTED FOR US.
PURE– TO FINALLY SEE US COLLECTIVELY CHIP AWAY THESE WALL AND UNDERSTAND THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO WANT TO HOP ON OUR LIFE’S FERRIS WHEEL AND BE, SAY, ELEVATE, SUPPORT, EMPOWER AND BE EXACTLY WHAT WE NEED AS WE MATRICULATE TO OUR NEXT LEVEL IS WHAT BEING VULNERABLE, SACRIFICIAL, TRANSPARENT AND TRUSTING IS ALL ABOUT, WE NEED TO GET THIS BACK AS BLACK WOMEN.
RUSE– WE LIVED A LIFE OF BEING TRICKED, BAMBOOZELED, UNREAL AND THIS REAL US IS A MORE FREE US AND I LOVE US BLACK WOMEN JUST THE WAY WE ARE.
USE– TO TAKE ALL THINGS DONE, SEEN, BELIEVED, UNBELIEVED, HEARD, FELT AND EXPERIENCED AND TOSS THEM ALL UP TO LAND UPON OUR JOURNEY TO SHOW THE WOMAN OUR MOTHERS, GRANDMOTHERS AND ELDERS WERE IS SIMPLY GIVING ME LIFE.
PROSE– THE WAY MY PEN METICULOUSLY, INTENTIONALLY AND TEDIOUSLY THOUGHT ABOUT US AND OUR PURPOSE AND HOW I KNOW US TO BE, WHAT I SEE IN US AND THE WOMEN WE SHOULD ALLOW TO BECOME, O YEAH WE COULD ILLUMINATE THE WORLD IF WE BLACK WOMEN WOULD JUST UNIFY.
KEEP ON WERKIN YA JUSS

MESSAGE FROM OUR ELDERS:
“Women, if the soul of the nation is to be saved, I believe that you must become its soul.” Coretta Scott King
“If the society today allows wrongs to go unchallenged. The impression is created that those wrongs have the approval of the majority.” Barbara Jordan
“Each time a woman stands up for herself, without knowing it possibly, without claiming it, she stands up for all women.” Dr. Maya Angelou
“The most common way people give up their power is by thinking they don’t have any.” Alice Walker
“Your silence will not protect you.” Audre Lorde
“I am not free while any woman is unfree, even when her shackles are very different from my own.” audre lorde
“Without community, there is no liberation.” Audre Lorde
“Two months ago I had a nice apartment in Chicago. I had a good job. I had a son. When something happened to the Negroes in the South I said, `That’s their business, not mine.’ Now I know how wrong. I was. The murder of my son has shown me that what happens to any of us, anywhere in the world, had better be the business of us all.” Mamie Till Mosby
“Whether you have a Ph.D., or no D, we’re in this bag together. And whether you’re from Morehouse or No house, we’re still in this bag together. Not to fight to try to liberate ourselves from the men — this is another trick to get us fighting among ourselves — but to work together with the black man, then we will have a better chance to just act as human beings, and to be treated as human beings in our sick society.” Fannie Lou Hamer
“It is inconceivable that a sovereign people should continue, as we do so abjectly, to say, “I can’t do anything about it. It’s the government.” The government is the creation of the people. It is responsible to the people. And the people are responsible for it. No American has the right to allow the present government to say, when Negro children are being bombed and hosed and shot and beaten all over the Deep South, that there is nothing we can do about it. There must have been a day in this country’s life when the bombing of the children in Sunday School would have created a public uproar and endangered the life of a Governor Wallace. It happened here and there was no public uproar.
I began by saying that one of the paradoxes of education was that precisely at the point when you begin to develop a conscience, you must find yourself at war with your society. It is your responsibility to change society if you think of yourself as an educated person. And on the basis of the evidence – the moral and political evidence – one is compelled to say that this is a backward society. Now if I were a teacher in this school, or any Negro school, and I was dealing with Negro children, who were in my care only a few hours of every day and would then return to their homes and to the streets, children who have an apprehension of their future which with every hour grows grimmer and darker, I would try to teach them – I would try to make them know – that those streets, those houses, those dangers, those agonies by which they are surrounded, are criminal. I would try to make each child know that these things are the result of a criminal conspiracy to destroy him. I would teach him that if he intends to get to be a man, he must at once decide that his is stronger than this conspiracy and they he must never make his peace with it. And that one of his weapons for refusing to make his peace with it and for destroying it depends on what he decides he is worth. I would teach him that there are currently very few standards in this country which are worth a man’s respect. That it is up to him to change these standards for the sake of the life and the health of the country. I would suggest to him that the popular culture – as represented, for example, on television and in comic books and in movies – is based on fantasies created by very ill people, and he must be aware that these are fantasies that have nothing to do with reality. I would teach him that the press he reads is not as free as it says it is – and that he can do something about that, too. I would try to make him know that just as American history is longer, larger, more various, more beautiful and more terrible than anything anyone has ever said about it, so is the world larger, more daring, more beautiful and more terrible, but principally larger – and that it belongs to him. I would teach him that he doesn’t have to be bound by the expediencies of any given administration, any given policy, any given morality; that he has the right and the necessity to examine everything. I would try to show him that one has not learned anything about Castro when one says, “He is a Communist.” This is a way of his not learning something about Castro, something about Cuba, something, in time, about the world. I would suggest to him that his is living, at the moment, in an enormous province. America is not the world and if America is going to become a nation, she must find a way – and this child must help her to find a way to use the tremendous potential and tremendous energy which this child represents. If this country does not find a way to use that energy, it will be destroyed by that energy.” JAMES BALDWIN
