We need to address the mental state of our Black children inside of our educational institutions who are put in these organized clubs under AAU’s banner.
The late great Bill Russell said, “Racism shaped his lifelong paradigm as a team player. “At that time it was never acceptable that a Black player was the best. That did not happen.”
Our inner city children are presented with “elite” travel football clubs starting at age 3 under the banner of AAU and they have been exploited and a plethora of people profit off of their passion, devotion, work ethic and ability to bring home hardware while residing in the inner cities throughout America. As we know it is a dangerous sports when it comes to their mental state.
When you are in an inner city where America defund, deny, exclude and reject us; parents look for alternatives to save their sons and money is never poured into academics but always prison or sports for them and we all know there is and have never been anything weak, amateur or inferior about inner city residents muscles, minds, academics or athleticism.
Lebron James did a documentary called 89Blocks on East St. Louis Senior High Schools football team who went to state and did it again this year but they are not “encouraged” to follow this because this is how they will get their “bag” or “eat.”
I feel that America need to pay us reparations for its willful, known, intentional, purposeful and inhumane treatment of our inner city children by defunding clubs, activities and then requiring us to be subjected to this without any safety net when it comes to wear and tare on their bodies and our bodies, our finances and or either death of our loved ones.
I am insulted and offended that in the AAU logo they have PROPERTY OF AAU 1888.
We are all aware that there is absolutely nothing mediocre, weak, inferior, second rate, amateur and less than about BLACK muscles, minds, academics, athleticism and major contributions in these inner cities as well as in this country.
Whatever we do, we do well and exude excellence.
The majority of our movers and shakers in the world of athleticism come from BLACK legislated crime ridden, impoverished, oppressive and lack in resources urban communities and they show up and overproduce anyway and then return home to no food, no transportation, no anything as their parents work from sunup to sundown to make it all happen. These top athletes from our inner cities were not told about options, privileges and access so therefore they were not prepared to see an influx of cash come there way, they were only seen as economics engines for their white colleges and coaches. The next top athlete comes to mind is Darius Miles of who was also from East St. Louis, IL.
I see that and get the subliminal but yet clearly understood message.
We BLACK citizens especially in our inner cities are ALWAYS EXPECTED to sign confidentiality agreements, sign letters of agreements, sign liability waivers, sign discharge of liability, sign contracts, sign clauses of many levels and sign ANYTHING that shields the GUILTY from being held accountable and responsible for knowingly, willingly and purposefully using, abusing, being accountable and responsible for their malpractice, immorality, illegality and maltreatment of the innocent, legislatively ignorant and the financially challenged but mentally and physically and intellectually ripe.
We are having talks about Title IX and the inequality and inequity in funding where boys sports and girls sports are a given and shouldn’t be perpetuated, can we address the racial component in Title IX, can we address the discrimination of what sport is offered to who in Title IX?
As the mom of not 1 but 2 girls who dominate on the volleyball court, let’s discuss volleyball being referred to as a “white” sport. We are all privy that no sport is a “white” sport. It is an exposure, distance, dollar, opportunity, resources, access and funding, sport. America make sure we are missing in said “white” sports. AAU is an “amateur” organization but we inner city parents parents pay professional fees. Application, uniform, replacements, travel, lodging, dining, leisure and the like and we really can’t but to keep our children face in the game, we make some serious sacrifices. Now, we know girls can spike and a child get hit in the head and that could cause a concussion as well, the libero who dive head first, if not careful, can cause brain injury depending upon where they fall.
African Americans knows better than to complain, reject, or admit anything wrong, immoral, unethical or unjust because who need whites to keep our bags filled so our families can eat while not understanding that THEY NEED OUR gifts, skills, brilliance, influence, intellect, contributions and talents.
America profit off of Black players in football to get banged up, bruised and hurt for pleasure and wealth.
When we wield, it is always the fact that the big print giveth and the little print taketh away, literally all away.
Communication, lingo or jargon is withheld and it is omitted from us inner city dwellers so therefore, we may read but it doesn’t mean that we fully understand. This reminds me of the CONTROLLED LANGUAGE in the Willie Lynch Letter also.
America intentionally, willfully, knowingly, legislatively and purposefully wield education malpractice, curriculum discrimination and mental and emotional maltreatment to maintain power and control over us and our future.
America is well aware that we go hard when we do things athletically.
America is well aware that our BLACK muscles and minds are one of our greatest assets that Whites use to enrich themselves and their legacies of which perpetuates generational and intergenerational wealth off of Black labor.
This is how the language is controlled and they begin to offer us checks we have never seen and our goal is to make sure our loved ones are safe, healthy, happy and secure all at the expense of our emotional, physical, and psychological well being.
This is 2023 and we are STILL jumping hoops, climbing walls and kicking down obstacles for our children to have a better, safer and more progressive education.
Education theft goes both ways. It is when we illegally use addresses of our loved ones and friends so our children can have a “better” education and it is also when these white teachers who literally reside in these “better” communities come to our inner cities and execute failure, incompetence, ignorance and illiteracy.
Don’t we know that we are the brains?
Don’t we know that it was when we didn’t have anything or low resources we used our innate abilities, skills, gifts, talents and intellectual properties?
We honestly need to STOP trying to force our way into affluent schools and communities that we aren’t wanted, appreciated or valued.
It was when we were SEGREGATED where we invented, created, were instructed to critically think, allowed to be inquisitive, demonstrate the confidence we were born, and allowed our intellectual property to be owned by us. It is in these affluent white spaces that our children are robbed, denied, rejected, omitted and excluded of their love of learning, belief in their abilities and become weakened.
Our BLACK TEACHERS were the ones who understood the wealth and depth their students brought with them. You see, poverty is no money and not lacking in brilliance, resilience, intelligence, drive, determination and abilities like these white teachers want to paint.
Our BLACK TEACHERS pulled out what was within, they weren’t afraid to hold their standards and expectations high, they made their demands known the first day of the school, they ran their schools and classrooms, they understood that each and every student had greatness within, they taught children and it didn’t matter the socioeconomic class or hue, they controlled the conversations, they knew the students couldn’t know more than they did because they hadn’t lived long enough, they understood the innate greatness, resilience and had that no excuse policy and we knew we couldn’t even think about disrespecting them or our peers, or mouthing back at ANY adult in the building.
This is what Ruby Bridges parents had to go through, although they more than likely didn’t use anyone’s address but they wanted their child to attend schools where access, opportunities, privileges, etc. were a given.
If we were only taught CRT and our ancestors major contributions in this thankless and ungrateful place called the USA then we wouldn’t be trying so hard to go to schools in areas where our intellectual property isn’t honored, wanted, valued, or respected but these same districts salivate over our children’s athleticism tho……

We’ve been brainwashed into thinking that it takes more monies than it actually does to educate children. That’s been one of the brainwash jobs. Parents often brag about the amount of money spent per child, but I think, perhaps ironically, those great monies that are spent—I call it putting a band-aid on a hemorrhage. The more monies we spend, the less children learn; because the more machines we have there, the more gadgets, the more gimmicks, the less children have to really think—the less they have to use their innate abilities, their curiosity, their brains.
REASON: Does the home atmosphere of some of these children have an impact on their schooling?
COLLINS: It has nothing to do with it. I’m not an “excuse person.” Some of these children come from what we call nebulous homes or statistically inferior homes. Yet they do better than my own children who come from a good environment where they have every book they need, where they have the food—my children hide the bacon to keep from eating it! They go to school not eating just like the poor child. What’s the difference in a child who has food and doesn’t eat it and a child who doesn’t have it? This talk about “the atmosphere at home” is a lot of malarkey. We need to really get back to common sense. These children who come from the inferior homes—all they want, all they’ve ever asked, is for someone to believe in them. Then they try much harder.
As an educator, when will it become criminal about what is happening to our brilliant, bold, capable, able and intelligent African American children inside of these prison preps called schools?
Not only are they attacking the African American faculty attempting to stop the unjust, immoral and dehumanizing criminalization of our children and the false reporting of their parents but our children as well.
These White teachers are allowed to criminalize the very poverty, oppression, lack, malpractice and maltreatment that America legislates.
I find it an insult that they are talking about CTR and Indoctrination when that is the every thing our educational system does.
I am convinced these White Karens and Kens are hired to be gatekeepers t white inferiority.
Every policy, rule, mandate, law, legislation and code are rooted and grounded in those 1800’s laws that need and rely upon our ignorance, illiteracy, faith and compliance to keep the economic Engine going in their favor by the unlawful utilization of our Black muscles, minds, intellectual property and labor.
These children who seemingly can’t learn academics are the same children that go to state. Our BLACK educators who were written out of the Brown vs. Board of Education understood that they were STUDENTS first And then athletes.
