These are not elite clubs, these are who go the money to enrich white and black exploring our children athletic prowess.

AAU STARTED IN 1888 BUT IN 2015 THEY CAME UP WITH THE URBAN (CODE FOR HOOD OR POOR BLACKS) INITIATIVE TO LINK UP WITH SCHOOLS AND PROGRAMS IN OUR HOODS TO BENEFIT, PROFIT AND GAIN GENERATIONAL WEALTH OFF OF BLACK LABOR, BLOOD, SWEAT, TEARS, ILLITERACY, IGNORANCE, FAITH, TRUST AND ATHLETIC SUPERIORITY.

This insanity ends with me!

Here deeply reflecting on the untimely demise of Dr. Antoinette Candia Bailey and I would do my elders, ancestors, former educators and Black educators today a disservices if I remained silent. As a Black educator, I totally get that these issues plaguing our Black children today are absolutely nothing new. The hardship, oppression, poverty,  lack, crime, PTSD, trauma, hunger, homelessness and the transient state are all familiar and intentionally legislated. They were all around before Brown vs. Board of Education but it was BLACK teachers who saw their BLACK students as an extension of them.

It is when the enemy who invaded and infiltrated our educational institution that we shifted this climate and truth. We know why we show it. Education is ministry, a calling, a duty and revolutionary work. We understand why we show up for a check per se’. We show up to impact, energizer, educate, insight, empower, infuse, educate, interject, elevate and change the trajectory of our future. We show up in our experience, history, examples, power, persistence, resilience, brilliance, intellectualism, confidence, greatness and boldness as an example of what should be. We teach them not only who they are but what is within them that will change the trajectory of where they are heading.

We are too silent, too silent as a community

We are silent, too silent as religious leaders within the community

We are silent, too silent as politicians within the community

We are silent, too silent as parents/caregivers

We are silent, too silent as a people

We are acting like we should be burying our future

This is not burying our future, see our future imprisoned, this enraged, this angry, and this defiant.

They have everything they want and need and don’t need at their fingertip and they are the most defiant, vile, malicious and vicious and I know why.

We are preparing them to be criminals starting within the school system so the enemy can feel safe in our space.

It is sad that we have “contractual workers” who get a check but clearly it is not to better the lives of the children or the community because by now we should see a drastic change in all stake holders lives.

She took her life because the enemy doesn’t want her changing the trajectory of our future

She took her life because the enemy doesn’t want our children to see themselves differently

She took her life because the enemy doesn’t want her loving on our children

She took her life because the enemy doesn’t want her to speak life

She took her life because the enemy doesn’t want her changing what our children see about themselves, their home life, their community and their world

She took her life because she was not allowed to heal, mend, care, love, empower and impact for the betterment of our people

She took her life because the enemy doesn’t want her to remind her future that they are brilliant

She took her life because the enemy doesn’t want her to tell her future that they are greater and better than that or this

She took her life because the enemy doesn’t want her to stand in the way of the criminal justice system

It became to much for her and it also too much for me!

As a substitute, I have seen many brilliant, gifted, skilled, talented and driven young people in my class

We as BLACK educators don’t get up daily to be disused by  our administration, community, religious leaders, parents or students.

We shouldn’t be dismissed, devalued, diluted and disbelieved by those who are not on the frontline.

The enemy is doing these things to us and our future.

So I ask, how long do we allow the enemy to do what they are doing?

We are accomplices as long as we are permissible and silent!
