Our BLACK EDUCATORS didn’t care if you were CAPTAIN OR CO CAPTAIN, if their work wasn’t turned in and in excellence, your team was playing without you and you learned your lesson QUICKLY.

Our BLACK EDUCATORS understood that the athletes had mad influence, leadership, respect and impact throughout the schools and they ALSO understood the same traits and skills needed to be dominant athletes on a field, court or in a gym were the SAME traits and skills expected in the classroom.

We moved from THERE IS MORE TO LIFE THAN said sport to SAID SPORT IS YOUR TICKET OUT.

So, no don’t blame these Black college athletes for not holding academics and college graduation high when K-12 it was all about sports and they DOMINATED their perspective sport.

They were the doctors.  While white men were experimenting on us without anesthesia, Black women were healing their own communities after slavery.  Women like Rebecca Lee Crumpler, the first Black woman to earn a M.D. and Matilda Evans the first Black woman in South Carolina built clinics and hospitals from scratch but even then, society tried to erase their titles they called nurses, midwives, helpers.  Why? Because they didn’t want the world to know that Black women built the foundation of American medicine.  Even today, when a Black woman walks into a hospital with credentials, she still gets questioned, still gets dismissed, still gets called by the wrong title but the truth?
